Pottsgrove Manor for Colonial Days

We went to Pottsgrove Manor to learn about colonial times. The girls played games, watched cooking demos in the original kitchen, made candles, and watched a blacksmith work.

Zoe and Izabella writing with a feather pens.

The girls learned manors of the time from this woman, who was a bit uptight. Perfect job for her.

She also taught the kids a dance.

The girls learned about the tools they used and all the items they made from the animals they kept, pig hair for toothbrushes!

Beach Trip

We went to Atlantic City for the weekend. The beach was great! Nobody on it, but the weather was perfect. Now the boardwalk was another story! Man, not really the place for kids. My kids loved it but not the most savory creatures walking around. A bit scary.

They did have these cool rides though. Girls had a blast!

Dinner place where Ethan was able to get Fish Tacos.

Taj Mahal, but the girls thought it was more like Jasmines castle. The joys of childhood.

Trip to Amish Farm for Hayride and Corn Maze

We took this great trip to this Amish Farm. This is the view from the Hayride that was pulled by mules. Coolest hayride I had ever been on. The cows that you see on the right are the ones that we stopped by on the way back to feed from the wagon. The nice farmer taught us all about raising cows for milk, very educational.

Pic from the hayride, happy girls.

About two hours later Zoe comes into the kitchen to show me a handful of hair that Izabella cut from the the entire side of her head.

So, after lunch we were off the the hair salon to get the ever so adorable Dorathy Hamel.

The Hair Disaster

Yesterday I was thinking how wonderful it is that my daughters are home schooled. We started the day reading books about Egypt and ate a traditional Egyptian breakfast.

So it begins

This is the beginning of my first blog ever and of course the girls want me to take them out to the woods. I shall return later.
